Fort Edmonton Park is located at the corner of Fox Drive and Whitemud Drive. The entrance to the Park is located on Fox Drive on the north side of the drive.

Hours of Operation

Spring Season Hours - Sunday, May 23 to Friday, June 25
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekends

Summer Season Hours - Saturday, June 26 to Sunday, August 29
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily

Fall Season Hours - Monday, August 30 to September 25
Mondays to Saturdays: only Wagon Tour Program available in the park - wagon departure times from Train Station are 11am, 12 noon, 1, 2 & 3, p.m.

Sundays: September 5th, 12th, 19th - park in full operation - 10a.m. to 6 p.m.

Please Note: The steam train and trolley car will not be running during Mon-Sat throughout September.  They will be fully operational and running their normal schedules during every Sunday in September.

Labour Day Holiday Hours
Monday, September 6th; park in full operation with Storytelling Festival - 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Free Admission Day
Sunday, September 26th, 2010: park in full operation - 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Wheelchair Accessibility

  • The majority of Fort Edmonton Park is wheelchair accessible and each year the City of Edmonton works to improve the accessibility of the historic buildings.
  • Accessible parking, entrance and lift on train
  • Designated DATS drop-off zone
  • Accessible washrooms at: Columbia House, Gyro Park, Masonic Hall, Reed’s Tea Room, Bill’s Confectionery, and Freight Shed (unisex)
  • The Fort and some buildings have limited accessibility
  • Most ground-level buildings have ramps
  • Accessible horse-drawn wagon (needs to be booked)
  • Fort Edmonton Park does not have scooters available to rent. We do have some wheelchairs available to borrow on a first come, first serve basis.

Bridge Shuttle Service

To maximize traffic flow during construction, five lanes will be maintained across the Quesnell Bridge, but unfortunately, the sidewalk across will be closed to pedestrians and cyclists starting Monday, February 23 at 7 a.m.

A free shuttle service will be available to help cyclists and pedestrians safely cross the Quesnell Bridge. The shuttle stops in Laurier Heights at 142 A St. and Laurier Drive and Fort Edmonton Park.

  • Service is free.
  • Hours of Operation: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week.
  • Start Date: 7 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2009.
  • End Date: Scheduled to end in December 2009.
  • Capacity: Wheelchair accessible and equipped with bike racks.
  • Drop-off/pick up: Stops at Fort Edmonton Park entrance & Fox Drive and at 142 A St. – Laurier Drive.
  • Schedule: Every half hour at Laurier Drive (beginning at 7 a.m.).
  • Shuttle service is not operated by ETS.
